Keerthy Suresh Recalls First Meeting With Antony Thattil In Class 12: ‘He Was 7 Years Older; I Winked At Him’

Keerthy Suresh has finally revealed her love story with her now-husband, Antony Thattil. The couple, who recently got married, have been together for 15 years now and their love story began on Orkut.

In a new chat with Galatta India, Keerthy revealed that while she was the one who flirted with Antony first, he proposed to her 15 years ago.

Keerthy said, “We go back to Orkut days, I took the initiative to hit on this guy. We were chatting for a good one month before we met at a restaurant. I was with my family, and I couldn’t meet him, so I winked at him and left. Later, I said, if you have the guts, propose to me, dude. He first proposed to me in 2010 and things got serious in 2016. He gave me a promise ring I never removed till we got married, you can even see it in all my films.”

Speaking about her wedding, the actress mentioned, “Literally, it’s a dream because we’ve had nightmares of eloping. My heart was full, it was an emotional moment for us. We’ve always wanted this.” “We started dating when I was in 12th and he was seven years older than me, working in Qatar. Our relationship was long distance for six years. We only started living together during the pandemic. He has been very supportive of my career. If there’s anyone out there thinking this man is lucky to have me, trust me, I’m lucky to have him,” she said.

Keerthy Suresh tied the knot with Antony Thattil in Goa in December last year. Their wedding ceremony was a private affair, much like their relationship. Keerthy said that very few people in the industry knew about her relationship. She said she felt the news would come out before but she remained careful.

Keerthy Suresh said, “Nobody knew; only close friends of mine knew. And even in the industry, Sam (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) knew, Jagadish (Palanisamy) had been a part of the journey from the beginning, Atlee, Priya, Vijay sir, Kalyani (Priyadarshan), Aishwarya Lekshmi…very few people, our friends, from the industry knew.”

According to a report by India Times, Antony is a businessman who works from Dubai and his hometown, Kochi, Kerala. He owns a prominent chain of resorts in his hometown and has a couple of businesses registered in Keerthy’s hometown, Chennai. Despite being an affluent businessman, Antony prefers to keep life away from the media.

For over a decade, they kept their romance private, only making their relationship public through a heartfelt social media post by Keerthy on November 27. Celebrating 15 years of togetherness, she wrote, “15 years and counting. It has always been AntoNY x KEerthy.” Their wedding in Goa was a warm and intimate affair. Among the close-knit attendees were family members and a few industry luminaries, including superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who shared their joyous moments. Antony and Keerthy’s enduring love story and now-married life have left fans in awe, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the couple.
