Uddhav Thackeray Devendra Fadnavis: Devabhau congratulations! Today, it is not the leaders of the BJP or the NDA, but the camp of Uddhav Thackeray.
Is there going to be some big game in Maharashtra in the new year? This question is because an editorial has been written in Thackeray’s Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’. Almost every paragraph praises CM Devendra Fadnavis.
A day earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for calling Eknath Shinde in ‘depression’. Yes, not directly Uddhav, but his party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ has written an editorial praising Devendra. “Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis started work in the new year and chose Gadchiroli district for this. When many ministers of the cabinet were adamant on the post of guardian minister of the creamy department and special district, Chief Minister Fadnavis reached Gadchiroli and started a new festival of development in that Naxal-affected district.
Every line of Saamana’s article seems to be giving some message. Obviously, no one will say anything, but this changed mood is giving a big signal. Sanjay Raut told the media today that we have congratulated Devendra Fadnavis. Appreciated, why did you? Because the government has done a good job. Even though we are in opposition, the state of Maharashtra is ours. In such a situation, questions have started to arise whether there is going to be some big reversal in Maharashtra again. Let me tell you that Uddhav Thackeray is the editor of ‘Saamana’. Before reading the article dated 3 January 2025, here’s what was written for Shinde in ‘Saamana’ a day earlier.
January 2 editorial
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde himself is in the throes of depression, people close to him say, and most of his time is spent in Darey village in Satara. The people of the village say that on the occasion of Amavasya, they light the fire of national work in the village field. What will the people of Maharashtra get from this?”

When the entire country was rejoicing in the New Year’s reception and celebrations, Chief Minister Fadnavis spent the first day of the New Year in Gadchiroli. Not only did he spend but also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several development projects. Some projects were inaugurated. Speaking at that time, he referred to the new phase of development of Gadchiroli. If what the CM has said is true, it will be positive not only for Gadchiroli, but for the whole of Maharashtra,” he said.
This day will indeed be a turning point for the common people, poor tribals of Gadchiroli district. The insinuation is that due to the Naxalites in Gadchiroli district, even normal development has not been done so far. There is a fact in this, but in such places, it is often the will of the rulers that is important. If Chief Minister Fadnavis has decided to do it, it is a matter of happiness.
Naxalism is a blot on Indian society. In the name of Maoism, young boys put military uniforms on their bodies. Pick up guns. A parallel armed government is run against power from the jungle. On the pretext of fighting against the exploiters and moneylenders, the unemployed are recruited in the Naxalite army and fight against the government. All this is done in the name of Maoism. Due to poverty and unemployment, the youth has turned to the Maoist ideas of ‘strength comes from the barrel of the gun’.
Many areas like Gadchiroli have been deprived of development and this is where the Naxal movement has flourished. With quick justice, village after village became a supporter and shelterer of Naxalism. Naxalism grew in districts like Gadchiroli due to unemployment and poverty due to the youth of Kashmir who became supporters of terrorists. The spark of Naxalism i.e. ‘revolution’ flared up in his mind and he raised a grudge against the Indian Constitution. Our polity is responsible for that.
We congratulate the CM…
Instead of frying ‘pakoras’ by studying, the youth were inclined towards creating terror with guns in their hands. Only blood was shed in this struggle. Policemen were killed and these young children were also killed. Now, if the present chief minister decides to change this picture in Gadchiroli, we congratulate him. The previous guardian ministers of Gadchiroli had also visited the place on motorcycles several times. However, allegations were then made that his visits were more about the development of the tribals there than about how to increase the percentage of some mining monarchs.
However, overall, it seems that Fadnavis, the ‘future guardian minister’, will do something new in Gadchiroli, changing the lives of the tribals there. However, in order to complete the development of Gadchiroli as per their claims, they will have to implement the ‘roadmap’ of development of Gadchiroli. This has not happened in Gadchiroli so far. You can’t point fingers at them against Naxalites. They will have to work on both these fronts to break the opposition of the Naxalites and also carry out development works.
The surrender of 11 Naxalites, including the dreaded woman Naxalite Tarakka, in the presence of Fadnavis, as well as the ST bus from Aheri to Gardewada for the first time after 77 years after Independence, is certainly a testimony to the Chief Minister’s vision of ‘Mission Gadchiroli’. The chief minister also inaugurated Lloyd Metals and Energy Limited’s steel factory in Gadchiroli.
Chief Minister Fadnavis assured that from now on, Gadchiroli will get the status of ‘Steel City’. Of course, for this, he will have to completely free Gadchiroli from the ‘steely’ claws of the Naxalites. If the present chief minister gives Gadchiroli a new identity as a ‘steel city’ instead of a ‘Naxal district’, it should be welcomed. Fadnavis will try to get Gadchiroli recognised as the first district in Maharashtra, not the last. This is not wrong, but this ‘responsibility’ of the development of Gadchiroli has been taken up only for the common people and poor tribals there, not for any mining emperor, Devbhau will have to take care of doing this. Only then will his promise come true that Gadchiroli’s transformation has begun with the sunrise of the New Year. Though gun raj continues in Beed, Chief Minister Fadnavis deserves praise if the rule of the Constitution is coming to power in Gadchiroli!
