Bigg Boss 18 winner will be announced on January 19. Ahead of the BB 18 grand finale, India Today Digital started a poll on X, with the names of top four contenders of the season – Karan Veer Mehra, Vivian Dsena, Chum Darang and Rajat Dalal. And the audience chose their favourite from the lot- Karan Veer Mehra.
Karan Veer Mehra is one of the strongest contenders of the season, with his fair share of fights, controversies, friendships and strategies. The TV actor won by a huge margin in the poll conducted on India Today Digital.
59.1 percent of the audience voted for Karan Veer, followed by Vivian, who took the second spot with 27.3 percent votes. Surprisingly, Chum Darang and Rajat Dalal received an equal percentage of votes (6.8 percent).
Apart from the listed four, Avinash Mishra and Eisha Singh, too, are contending for the winner’s trophy.
Karan Veer announced his participation in Bigg Boss 18, a week after winning Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. Discussing whether the popularity he gained during KKK14 would help him on his Bigg Boss journey, the actor told India Today Digital, “It will definitely give me some leverage. It’s on the same channel and hence, has a similar audience.”
He added, “Even though it’s somewhere related, Bigg Boss definitely has a wider appeal. It’s also a daily show, watched 24X7. The scope to build your journey, and form a connection with the audience is bigger and also exciting. It’s much more than just doing stunts. But I do agree that I am going in with an advantage.”
Karan Veer Mehra topped the social media trends charts the day he was announced as a Bigg Boss participant. “After your 10th board exams, you want to appear for your 12th, right? This was a better and bigger career opportunity, and hence, I jumped on it,” the Pavitra Rishta actor said.
The actor also said that he was approached for BB earlier, but things never fell into place. He said, “Either I was working, and when I wanted to do it, people were already locked. So, it has always been a hit-and-miss opportunity. Finally, it all fell into place this year.”
