Tripura Government’s Commitment to Preserving Indigenous Culture and Traditions

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of its indigenous communities. Speaking at the inauguration of the Brahmakunda Mela in Simna, Mohanpur Sub-Division, CM Saha emphasized the importance of preserving the traditions of the state’s 19 tribal communities.

The government has sanctioned Rs 14 crore for the beautification and development of the Brahmakunda Mela premises, aiming to attract more visitors and promote cultural events. CM Saha highlighted the significance of such fairs, stating, “These events are not just gatherings; they are a celebration of our rich culture and heritage, which must be passed down to future generations.”

He also stressed the need for infrastructure development to enhance tourism and investment in the state, aligning with the vision of “Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura.” The mela, organized twice a year, serves as a platform for rituals and remembrance of forefathers, showcasing the unique traditions of Tripura’s tribal communities.

The Chief Minister’s remarks underline the government’s efforts to restore and preserve indigenous heritage through various initiatives, ensuring that the legacy of Tripura’s tribal culture remains vibrant and celebrated. This commitment reflects the state’s pride in its cultural identity and its determination to promote inclusivity and progress.
