In a bold push to foster self-employment and grassroots enterprise, the Uttar Pradesh government is actively promoting franchise-based business models under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM-YUVA). The initiative aims to equip young entrepreneurs with low-investment, high-potential business opportunities, backed by interest-free, collateral-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh.
🏪 Franchise Model Gains Momentum Across Sectors
The MSME Department has already registered over 150 companies and machine manufacturers offering franchise setups in sectors such as:
- Food processing (ice cream, noodles, momos, biscuits)
- Sanitary and paper products (napkins, cups)
- Renewable energy (oil pressing units)
- Quick-service restaurants (pani puri, Chinese food carts)
- Personal care (salons, grooming)
- Stationery, vermicompost, and packaging
The department is also onboarding reputed brands that offer franchise kits under ₹5 lakh, ensuring affordability and scalability for first-time business owners.
👥 Targeting Youth Aged 18–45 with Inclusive Outreach
Eligible youth between 18 and 45 years are being identified through a statewide campus outreach campaign across universities, engineering colleges, and skill institutes. Specially trained officials are conducting workshops and one-on-one sessions to guide applicants through the loan and franchise selection process.
📈 Impressive Uptake and Impact
- 2.5 lakh+ applications received
- 1.10 lakh+ forwarded to banks
- 53,000+ loans sanctioned
- 40,000+ youth already funded
Beneficiaries are launching ventures in digital marketing, interior design, solar panel installation, laundry services, tattoo studios, and more—signaling a shift from job-seeking to job-creating mindsets.
🗣️ Government’s Vision for a Self-Reliant Youth
Joint Commissioner and Scheme Nodal Officer Sarveshwar Shukla emphasized that the franchise model is designed to offer ready-to-execute business ideas with technical support and mentorship.
“Our goal is to make entrepreneurship accessible, especially for youth from OBC, SC, minority, and women communities,” he said.
