Adani Energy Secures ₹2,800 Crore Transmission Project in Gujarat for Green Hydrogen

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has announced a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy journey by securing a ₹2,800 crore power transmission project in Gujarat. The project, aimed at facilitating the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, underscores AESL’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Project Details

The initiative, officially titled “Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat,” involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with two high-capacity 765/400kV transformers. Additionally, a 75-kilometer-long 765kV double-circuit transmission line will connect the Navinal substation to the Bhuj substation. This infrastructure expansion will add 150 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL’s network.

Strategic Importance

The project is a critical component of India’s push toward renewable energy and industrial decarbonization. By supplying green electrons for green hydrogen and ammonia production, the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of establishing Gujarat as a hub for green energy projects. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months, marking a significant step in India’s transition to a sustainable energy future.

Competitive Edge

AESL secured the project through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, with PFC Consulting Limited serving as the bid process coordinator. This marks AESL’s sixth major order in the current fiscal year, bringing its total order book to approximately ₹57,561 crore.
