AI accounts for 30% of Oracle India’s H1FY25 deal wins

Technology giant Oracle’s India business saw nearly 30 percent of its deal bookings being driven by artificial intelligence (AI) in the April-September period, signaling growing adoption and demand of enterprise AI in the country.

The company saw growth from across sectors including banking financial services industry (BFSI), telcos, manufacturing, automotive and the healthcare sector. It added 65 new logos in H1. Some of these wins include Berger Paints, SRF Limited, AU Small Finance, The Hindu, RXIL, Tally Solutions, Magma General Insurance Limited, Sharechat, Ministry of Commerce, Lok Sabha to name a few.

The India business grew 51 percent in the second quarter ended September 30, and 17 percent in H1FY25.

The growth was driven by BFSI sector that was the most significant contributor, with 162% growth. The contribution from professional services/ IT and ITeS and BFSI combined was more than 60% in H1.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of Oracle CloudWorld Tour Mumbai, Premalakshmi PR, vice president, Technology Cloud, Oracle said: “It’s been a strong year in terms of growth, bookings, revenue and consumption. Our infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and database services grew by more than 50% year on year. In the last six months, which is our H1 of this fiscal, we’ve acquired at least 65 plus new logos.”

“In terms of the AI customer wins, it accounted for 30% of our overall revenue…Whether it is in terms of our public cloud, hybrid cloud, or in terms of the offerings that we bring to the table, we are seeing customers are adopting our cloud across the different deployment models that we are giving,” she added.

Shailesh Singla, vice president, Cloud Applications, Oracle India said: “We already introduced some 100 Gen AI use cases in the product. We have 50 AI agents, so we have introduced AI and ML into the products of Oracle applications, so it has made it very easy to adopt Gen AI features and all those things.”

Oracle’s OCI AI infrastructure brings around 131,000 GPUs together in what it calls a “super cluster” to help enterprise customers to train and deploy AI models, get inference.
