Bollywood star Alia Bhatt turned heads at the grand re-release of the 1981 classic Umrao Jaan, paying a heartfelt tribute to veteran actress Rekha by recreating her iconic look from Silsila. Draped in a custom baby pink Tarun Tahiliani saree, Alia’s appearance was a nostalgic nod to vintage Bollywood elegance, earning praise from fans and fashion critics alike.

Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia’s ensemble featured:

  • A soft pink saree with a contemporary blouse adorned with subtle embellishments and a keyhole neckline
  • Feather earrings, a tiny bindi, and dewy makeup that echoed Rekha’s timeless charm
  • Soft waves and a center-parted hairstyle reminiscent of Rekha’s 1981 look

“Some beauties are born of the moment. Others echo through time,” wrote Alia’s makeup artist Puneet B. Saini, calling the look an “homage” to Rekha’s legacy.
