Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving the Badvel-Nellore Corridor project. The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi, has sanctioned the construction of a four-lane highway spanning 109 km, with an estimated cost of ₹3,653 crore.
Boost to Infrastructure and Economic Growth
The Badvel-Nellore Corridor, part of National Highway 67, is expected to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and contribute to economic development across multiple districts. The project will be executed under the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) model, ensuring efficient implementation.
Strategic Benefits of the Corridor
One of the key advantages of the corridor is its impact on logistics and trade. The new highway will shorten the travel distance to Krishnapatnam Port by 34 km, reducing congestion and improving access for businesses and industries.
Government’s Commitment to Development
PM Modi emphasized that the Badvel-Nellore Corridor will play a crucial role in Andhra Pradesh’s development, creating employment opportunities and strengthening infrastructure in the region. CM Naidu echoed this sentiment, stating that the project is a major step forward in the state’s growth trajectory.
