In a landmark move for India’s aerospace sector, Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure and French aviation giant Dassault Aviation have announced a strategic partnership to manufacture Falcon 2000 business jets in India, with the first delivery slated for 2028.
The announcement was made at the Paris Air Show, marking the first time Dassault will assemble Falcon aircraft outside France, positioning India among an elite group of nations—alongside the US, France, Canada, and Brazil—that produce business jets for global markets.
🛫 Final Assembly Line in Nagpur
The jets will be assembled at the Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra, which will also serve as a global Centre of Excellence for the Falcon series, including the Falcon 6X and 8X.
“This collaboration is a powerful expression of our commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India for the World’,” said Anil D. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Group.
🛠️ Key Production Transfers
As part of the agreement, Dassault will transfer the assembly of the Falcon 2000’s fuselage, wings, and front section to DRAL. The facility will also handle front fuselage assembly for the Falcon 6X and 8X, with significant upgrades planned to support these advanced production lines.
👷 Job Creation and Economic Impact
The expanded operations are expected to create hundreds of skilled jobs over the next decade and significantly boost India’s role in the global aerospace supply chain.
“This new agreement illustrates our firm intent to meet our ‘Make in India’ commitments,” said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
