Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal made strong allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claiming that the saffron party is orchestrating false cases against AAP leaders to undermine the party’s governance and its popular welfare schemes. Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of resorting to underhanded tactics out of fear of AAP’s growing popularity among the people and said, “Koi bhi farzi case ho jaye, aakhir mein jeet nyaay ki hoti hai” (No matter how many false cases are made, justice ultimately prevails).
The AAP leader also claimed that key party figures, including Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia, are likely to face raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which are part of a larger plan to intimidate them.
He said, “We have come to know from our sources that ED, CBI and the Income Tax department have all been pressurised by the BJP to arrest Delhi CM Atishi in a fake case. In fact, it is with great responsibility that I want to tell you that the BJP is planning to raid all AAP senior leaders to distract us from our ongoing campaign.”
What Ajay Maken said on Kejriwal’s ED claim
Responding to the claims made by Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leader Ajay Maken said that the AAP leader is making such claims to “stay in limelight” and his statements are like “throwing stones in the pond to create ripples.”
Will Congress make an alliance with AAP? Ajay Maken reacts
Ajay Maken said that AAP remained in power because of the initial support it got from the Congress. Reflecting on the same, he said, “It was our biggest mistake. This time around as well it was a mistake that we fought in a alliance. Delhi Congress had opposed the alliance and we continue to do so.”
Targetting Arvind Kejriwal, Ajay Maken said, “He has back stabbed us. A person like Kejriwal cannot be trusted.”
