Bigg Boss 18’s Tajinder Bagga Slams Farah Khan for Calling Holi a ‘Chhapri’ Festival

Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan, currently hosting Celebrity MasterChef, has sparked controversy with her recent comments about the Hindu festival of Holi. In a recent episode, Khan referred to Holi as a festival of ‘chhapri’ people, a derogatory term that has left many netizens upset and disappointed.

*Tajinder Bagga’s Response*

Adding to the growing chorus of disapproval, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Tajinder Bagga voiced his strong disapproval of Khan’s remarks. Bagga took to social media to slam the filmmaker for targeting Indian culture and festivals. On February 21, Bagga posted a video on Instagram, calling Khan the “biggest chhapri.”

In his video, Bagga stated, “The statement given by Farah Khan that Holi is the festival of Chhapris, I feel that targeting Indian culture and festivals has become the most important work of these Chhapris. I feel that Farah ji, you’re the biggest Chhapri. We have been celebrating Holi for many years and many centuries, and people of India celebrate Holi and Diwali well, but some Chhapris like you come and try to defame it.”

Bagga demanded an apology from Khan, saying, “That’s why you should apologize to the Indian people. You should apologize for saying that Holi is a festival of Chhapris.”

*Legal Action*

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed by social media personality Vikash Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments. As reported by IANS, Fhatak expressed disappointment with Khan’s recent comment and demanded legal action against her. The complaint, filed at Khar Police Station in Mumbai, urges authorities to take strict action against Khan under sections 196, 299, 302, and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

*Public Reaction*

Khan’s remarks have sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many users demanding an apology from the filmmaker. The controversy has ignited debates about respecting Indian traditions and the impact of public figures’ comments on social harmony.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Farah Khan will respond to the backlash and the legal complaint filed against her. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of careful speech and respect for diverse cultural and religious beliefs.

*Jab Customers Ko Pata Chalega…’: Vineeta Singh Questions PALMONAS’ Warranty on Shark Tank India 4*

*Agartala, Tripura (Feb 21, 2025):* Demi-fine jewellery brand PALMONAS secured ₹1.26 crore for a 1% equity stake on Shark Tank India Season 4, drawing investment from Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and Ritesh Agarwal, Founder of OYO. The deal, valuing PALMONAS at ₹126 crore, was finalized by co-founders Amol Patwari and Pallavi Mohadikar.

*Expansion Plans*

PALMONAS, which onboarded actor Shraddha Kapoor as a co-founder in 2023, plans to use the funds to expand offline, grow internationally in the U.S., Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and enhance AI-driven personalization. During the pitch, the founders revealed that Shraddha Kapoor holds a 21% stake in the company.

*Inside the Pitch: Negotiations and Revelations*

During the pitch, Pallavi Mohadikar shared that PALMONAS expects to generate ₹35 crore in revenue this year and has already raised ₹6 crore in an earlier angel round, maintaining a ₹126 crore valuation. Investor Aman Gupta was skeptical, stating he couldn’t match that valuation but still made an offer at ₹20 crore, which Namita Thapar immediately dismissed. Instead, she offered the valuation the founders sought but asked for 1% in royalties—a condition Pallavi was unwilling to accept.

*Vineeta Singh’s Concerns*

Kunal Bahl questioned the brand’s “lifetime warranty” claim and discovered it was not entirely accurate. “This isn’t a lifetime warranty. When customers realize they’ve been misled, won’t it hurt the brand?” asked Vineeta Singh, questioning PALMONAS’ product guarantee on Shark Tank India Season 4. She pointed out that if a customer buys something for ₹3,000 but only gets a ₹400 store voucher years later, it holds little value. Unconvinced, she backed out of the deal, as did Kunal Bahl.

*Final Deal and Future Plans*

With Vineeta and Kunal out, Ritesh Agarwal stepped in to partner with Namita. As the founders took a moment to consult, Kunal advised Namita to drop the royalty demand, saying: “You will easily make 10 times your money, don’t insist on royalties.” But Namita remained confident. When Pallavi and Amol returned, they rejected the royalty condition once again. However, Namita held her ground, insisting she brings more value than the ₹50 lakh in royalties. To everyone’s surprise, Pallavi agreed to the deal. Aman Gupta, stunned by Namita’s persistence, folded his hands and said: “You’re the real shark.”

Following the investment, PALMONAS is set to expand its product range, strengthen its digital and retail presence, and push innovation. With five retail stores launched in just three months, the brand is rapidly scaling. Co-founder Amol Patwari emphasized the impact of the funding: “Securing this investment from Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal is a testament to PALMONAS’ potential. With Shraddha Kapoor on board, we’re ready to make premium jewellery more accessible.”

The successful deal on Shark Tank India 4 highlights PALMONAS’ growth potential and commitment to innovation, setting the stage for further expansion in both domestic and international markets.
