BJP Prepares for Panchayat Elections in Assam with Strategic Committees

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam has intensified its preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections by forming specialized committees to ensure a well-coordinated campaign. The state unit has established a 16-member Panchayat Election Management Committee, led by Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika, and a 13-member Manifesto Drafting Committee, headed by Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

The Manifesto Drafting Committee includes prominent leaders such as Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah, and Members of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Parimal Suklabaidya. Additionally, district in-charges and co-in-charges have been appointed to oversee various aspects of the election process.

Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia emphasized the party’s systematic approach, stating that a core committee, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other senior leaders, has been constituted to guide the campaign. The BJP is also gearing up for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections, showcasing its comprehensive electoral strategy.

The panchayat elections, scheduled for April, are expected to be a significant political event in Assam, with the BJP aiming to consolidate its grassroots presence. The party’s structured preparations reflect its commitment to engaging with voters and addressing local governance issues effectively.
