In a moment that had cricket fans and commentators in splits, Cheteshwar Pujara playfully mocked former England captain Michael Vaughan on live television by presenting him with a framed copy of his infamous 4-0 prediction from the 2020–21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy—and cheekily asked for his autograph on it.
📺 The Viral Moment
During the pre-match show ahead of the India vs England 1st Test at Headingley, Pujara surprised Vaughan with a framed printout of his old tweet that read:
“Told ya … India are going to get hammered in the Test Series … #AUSvIND #4-0.”
The tweet, posted after India’s 36-all-out collapse in Adelaide, had predicted a whitewash by Australia. Instead, India staged a historic comeback to win the series 2-1, with Pujara playing a pivotal role.

Vaughan, caught off guard, signed the frame with a sheepish grin as Sunil Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle burst into laughter. The light-hearted exchange quickly went viral, with fans praising Pujara’s wit and sense of humor.
“It was all in good fun,” Pujara said later. “We remember that series fondly, and this was just a little reminder of how unpredictable cricket can be.”
🏏 A Nod to India’s Grit
India’s 2020–21 triumph in Australia is widely regarded as one of the greatest comebacks in Test history. Despite missing key players like Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami, the team rallied under Ajinkya Rahane, with memorable performances from Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, and Pujara himself.
