Chum Darang Opens Up About Her Challenging Role in ‘Khauf’

Actress Chum Darang, known for her versatility, has shared insights into her intense experience while working on the upcoming horror series Khauf. Portraying the character Svetlana, Chum revealed the physical and emotional toll the role took on her, including moments that left her with migraines.

In a candid interview, Chum described her preparation for the role, which marked her debut in the horror genre. “Horror is my favorite genre, so I immersed myself in it—watched everything I could find,” she said. However, the challenges of acting in a horror series were far from ordinary. “I had to scream my lungs out, which gave me migraines. There were days I shot with a fever, and I even bled during one scene! I literally put my blood and sweat into this,” she added.

The series, directed by Pankaj Kumar and Surya Balakrishnan, features a stellar ensemble cast, including Rajat Kapoor, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shilpa Shukla. Chum expressed her excitement about working alongside such acclaimed actors, calling it a “dream come true.”

Khauf, created by Smita Singh and produced under the Matchbox Shots banner, is set to premiere on Prime Video on April 18. The series promises to deliver spine-chilling moments and a gripping narrative, with Chum’s performance as Svetlana being one of its highlights.

Fans eagerly await the release of Khauf, which is expected to redefine the horror genre in Indian streaming content. Chum’s dedication and passion for her craft have already set high expectations for this much-anticipated series.
