Top WTA stars Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka have officially put their French Open fallout behind them, delighting fans with a surprise TikTok dance-off during a shared training session at Wimbledon 2025. The lighthearted moment comes weeks after a tense exchange of words following Gauff’s dramatic win over Sabalenka in the Roland Garros final.
💃 From Rivalry to Reconciliation
The duo, seeded No. 1 (Sabalenka) and No. 2 (Gauff), were seen dancing and lip-syncing together on Centre Court, with Gauff captioning one video: “The olive branch was extended and accepted!” She also urged fans to stop fueling the feud: “We’re good, so you guys should be too.”
🗣️ Sabalenka Apologizes for “Unprofessional” Remarks
After her loss in Paris, Sabalenka had controversially claimed Gauff won “not because she played incredible, but because I made all those mistakes.” She also suggested that Iga Swiatek would have beaten Gauff had she reached the final.
Facing backlash, Sabalenka later admitted her comments were “completely unprofessional”, adding:
“I let my emotions get the better of me. I absolutely regret what I said back then. We all make mistakes. I’m just a human being who’s still learning.”
She personally reached out to Gauff to apologize, which the American graciously accepted.
🤝 “We’re Friends,” Say Both Stars
Both players confirmed they’ve moved on:
- Gauff: “I preach love, I preach light… I just want us to be Kumbaya, hakuna matata, and be happy here.”
- Sabalenka: “We are good, we are friends. I hope the U.S. media can be easy on me right now.”
🎾 Wimbledon Watch: A Potential Final Rematch?
As the top two seeds, Gauff and Sabalenka are projected to meet only in the Wimbledon final, should they advance through their respective draws. Gauff could face Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals, while Sabalenka may encounter Madison Keys, the 2025 Australian Open champion, in her quarter.
