South Korean AI chip startup FuriosaAI has made headlines by rejecting an $800 million acquisition offer from Meta Platforms Inc. The decision underscores FuriosaAI’s commitment to growing as an independent entity and challenging industry giants like Nvidia in the AI semiconductor space.
Founded in 2017 by semiconductor expert June Paik, FuriosaAI specializes in developing AI inference chips for data centers.
