Google Pixel 9a and 9a Pro May Feature New Camera Module Design

The upcoming Google Pixel 9a and 9a Pro smartphones are expected to showcase a new camera module design, moving away from the design of their predecessor, the Pixel 8a. According to alleged leaked renders shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), the new design features a pill-shaped camera module on the back, housing two cameras arranged horizontally with a flash lens. The selfie camera is positioned in the middle of the top end of the screen.

The leaked renders suggest that the Pixel 9a and 9a Pro may be available in four colour options: Obsidian, Peony, Porcelain, and Iris. These colours are anticipated to be marketed as black, pink, white, and blue, respectively.

According to Roland Quandt from Winfuture, the latest pricing information indicates that the base model of the Pixel 9a is expected to cost $520 (€499), a decrease from the previously rumoured $572 (€549). The 256 GB version is also expected to be more affordable, with a projected price of $625 (€599) compared to the earlier rumoured $677 (€649).

Expected Specifications

The Pixel 9a is anticipated to be powered by the Google Tensor G4 chip, ensuring smooth performance. It is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,700 nits peak brightness, providing a clear and radiant screen. The device is likely to come with 8 gigabytes of RAM and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It is also expected to have a 5,100 mAh battery with wireless charging support and a water-resistant design for durability.

Camera Features

The Pixel 9a is expected to be equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera with a 1/2-inch sensor for sharp photos and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera for wider shots. For selfies and video calls, the device is anticipated to have a 13 MP front camera.
