The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala has officially launched its campaign for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ahead of the Wayanad bye elections, scheduled to take place next month.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary KC Venugopal inaugurated the leadership convention that kicked off election activities for Priyanka Gandhi.
“The people of Wayanad, who supported Rahul Gandhi, are sure to give Priyanka Gandhi a historic majority,” Venugopal stated.
As part of the campaign, UDF constituency conventions will take place on Saturday in all seven assembly constituencies of the Lok Sabha seat. Prominent leaders, including Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, UDF Convener MM Hasan, and IUML General Secretary PK Kunhalikutty, will participate in these conventions.
Constituency election committees will be formed during the events. The panchayat conventions have already been completed under the leadership of Congress leader Dean Kuriakos in the Sultan Batheri constituency, while Mananthavady panchayat conventions led by MLA Sunny Joseph and MP Rajmohan Unnithan in Kalpetta are scheduled for the coming days.
All panchayat election committees and booth level committees are expected to be established by October 25. Home visits led by leaders will commence on the 26 and 27.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) recently announced the schedule for bye elections for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats across 15 states. The election in Wayanad Lok Sabha seat will happen on November 13.
