Actor Sanjay Mishra has been a name in the Hindi film industry for decades now. He will next be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Son of Sardaar 2, in which he hasreplaced actor Vijay Raaz. In an exclusive conversation with India Today digital, Mishra broke his silence on his bond with Vijay and how he ended up stepping into his shoes in the Ajay Devgn-starrer.
Mishra shared, “I am done filming for Son of Sardaar 2. All of this is a part of the business, to be very honest. I did the film because I got a call from Ajay Devgn. One call from him and that’s all it takes for me to say yes to him. He’s a close friend and has been there for me in tough times. Not just that, replacing Vijay wasn’t easy.”
He went on to appreciate the acting prowess of his colleague and friend. The actor said, “He’s a phenomenal actor, as we all know. At the back of my mind, it was surely playing that I needed to perform and deliver my best, especially because I replaced a fine actor like Vijay. We are also friends and will remain. I’m a fan of his work, and he’s amazing at what he does. This instead motivated me to better my performance, so I don’t disappoint my audience and Ajay, who always shows faith in me.”
Notably known for his performances in Golmaal, Dhamaal, Bhakshak, and Kadvi Hawa, among many others, Mishra is back to entertain his audience with his comic timing inAneez Bazmi’s Diwali release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in the lead.
Speaking of the trend of horror comedy films, Mishra said, “Honestly, it’s a good thing. If it’s the flavour of the season, then it’s only sensible to give to the audience what is really selling. When Stree came out, it sort of paved a pathway for our film. Now, when Stree 2 has done so well at the box office, it has once again set a path for us, giving us hope that part 3 of our franchise will also be successful like the other two parts, since the audiences are currently enjoying this genre.”
While Son of Sardaar 2 is due to release next year, Bhool Bhulaiya 3 is all set to hit the theatres on November 1.
