Gauhati University recently marked a significant milestone as Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan visited the campus to initiate a massive modernization effort. On a Monday, the administration welcomed the distinguished leader to officially lay the foundation stone for a comprehensive infrastructure development project valued at 110 crores. This substantial financial commitment aims to elevate the academic and campus environment for thousands of students pursuing higher education in the region.

The special ceremony drew numerous faculty members, academic leaders, and eager students who gathered to witness the launch of this transformative initiative. University representatives expressed great optimism regarding how the upcoming facilities will enhance the overall educational experience and expand institutional capabilities to meet modern academic demands.

Guidance and Values Shared with Students

Beyond the primary focus of inaugurating the construction initiative, the Vice-President utilized the platform to address the student body directly. During a dedicated special programme held on campus, he delivered an inspiring address centered on personal discipline, modern societal challenges, and foundational life values.

He strongly urged the young audience to consciously steer clear of harmful substances such as drugs, highlighting the detrimental impact of substance abuse on personal futures and community well-being. Furthermore, he offered practical counsel regarding the digital age, advising students to practice responsible utilization of social media platforms rather than allowing digital distractions to derail their primary academic and personal objectives.

Respect for Authority and Elders

A central theme of the address focused on the enduring importance of deep-rooted cultural values and interpersonal respect. The visiting leader reminded the assembled scholars to maintain profound respect for their parents and teachers, acknowledging the vital roles these figures play in shaping character and guiding career paths.

Emphasizing that personal choices, consistent discipline, and strong moral values ultimately determine the trajectory of youth, the event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the academic community.
