India Responds Firmly to Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir Remarks

In a strong rebuttal to Pakistan’s recent comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks regarding Jammu and Kashmir, India has reiterated its stance, urging Pakistan to vacate Indian territories under its illegal occupation. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that Pakistan’s promotion of cross-border terrorism remains the primary obstacle to peace and stability in the region.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “The world knows that the real issue is Pakistan’s active promotion and sponsorship of cross-border terrorism. Instead of spreading lies, Pakistan should vacate Indian territory under its illegal and forcible occupation.”

The remarks come in response to Pakistan’s criticism of Prime Minister Modi’s statements during a podcast interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman. In the interview, PM Modi highlighted India’s consistent efforts to foster peace with Pakistan, which were met with hostility and betrayal. He also underscored Pakistan’s role as a global hub for terrorism, affecting not only India but the international community at large.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office had dismissed PM Modi’s comments as “misleading and one-sided,” accusing India of state-sanctioned oppression in Jammu and Kashmir. However, India firmly rejected these allegations, calling them baseless and reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.

The MEA’s response underscores India’s unwavering position on the issue and its call for Pakistan to address its internal challenges rather than deflecting blame onto others. The ongoing tensions highlight the complexities of the India-Pakistan relationship and the challenges in achieving lasting peace in the region.
