India Slams OIC, Accuses Pakistan of Weaponizing Terrorism for Political Ends

India has issued a scathing rebuttal to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Pakistan, rejecting what it called “unwarranted and factually incorrect” references made during the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Istanbul. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) accused Pakistan of “turning terrorism into statecraft” and condemned the OIC for allowing its platform to be misused for narrow political agendas.

India Rejects OIC’s Remarks on Kashmir and Military Action

The OIC’s statement, which criticized India over Jammu & Kashmir and alleged “unprovoked military aggression,” was met with firm opposition from New Delhi. The MEA reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral and sovereign part of India, and the OIC has no locus standi to comment on the country’s internal affairs.

India also dismissed Pakistan’s claims of Indian military aggression, clarifying that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, was a legitimate act of self-defence targeting terrorist camps operating from Pakistani territory.

MEA: Pakistan’s Propaganda Undermines OIC’s Credibility

In its official statement, the MEA said, “These statements, driven by Pakistan, which has turned terrorism into statecraft, reflect the continued misuse of the OIC platform for narrow political ends.” It further criticized the OIC’s failure to acknowledge the real and documented threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan, citing the recent Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.

India also highlighted the irony of Pakistan lecturing others on human rights and counter-terrorism, given its own record of state-sponsored terrorism, minority persecution, and sectarian violence.

Strategic and Diplomatic Implications

The strong language used by India signals a growing frustration with international forums being used to propagate what it sees as Pakistan’s false narratives. Analysts suggest that India’s response is aimed at reinforcing its sovereignty over Kashmir and exposing Pakistan’s alleged duplicity in global counter-terrorism efforts.

The MEA concluded by urging the OIC to “reflect deeply on the perils of allowing Pakistan’s propaganda to hijack and politicize its agenda,” warning that such actions could undermine the OIC’s credibility and relevance on the global stage.
