IPL 2025: Indian Premier League set for March 21 Start, Dharamshala may host More Matches

The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is confirmed to begin on March 21, as announced by IPL chairman Arun Dhumal.

The mega auction, held in November 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, saw a total of 182 players sold for a record Rs. 639.15 crores.

Although Dhumal confirmed the start date, he also mentioned that the complete schedule will be announced in the coming days, after consultation with all stakeholders.

“See, the IPL season will start in March. The time is set for March 21. And the schedule will be released in a few days,” Dhumal told reporters at the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh.

Schedule: The full schedule of IPL 2025 will be released soon. The IPL organizers are currently consulting all stakeholders to finalize the details.

Dharamshala to have more Matches

Arun Dhumal mentioned that Dharamshala Cricket Stadium could host 2 to 3 matches this season, which is an increase from previous years. The league will continue to explore opportunities to bring matches to different venues, including places like Bilaspur and Dharamshala.

The IPL continues to attract global talent, and it is seen as one of the most competitive leagues in the world. There is also a growing focus on promoting talented players from rural areas, especially in India.
