Javed Jaaferi Criticizes Daughter Alaviaa’s Career as an Influencer

Javed Jaaferi, renowned for his comic roles on the silver screen and son of the legendary comedian Jagdeep, has publicly expressed his discontent with his daughter Alaviaa’s career choice. While his son, Meezan, has followed in his footsteps, pursuing a career in acting, Alaviaa has carved out a niche for herself as a content creator and influencer. However, Javed Jaaferi’s recent remarks reveal his dissatisfaction with her profession.

Last year, Javed made headlines with his comments on Alaviaa’s career during his appearance on the Amazon Prime Video show, The Tribe. He took a strong dig at the profession, questioning its value and originality. In a recent interaction with Humans of Bombay, Javed reiterated his stance, emphasizing his concerns about the influence and impact of content creation.

“But what is it actually? You turn around and your outfit changes. And then you are lip-syncing a song. You should create something original. There are people dancing, singing, doing martial arts, but all of this is timepass. We are consuming so much mediocrity that we are turning mediocre. It’s actually hypnotizing you, and it becomes an addiction. People are just looking and consuming, and it’s all nonsense. What is an influencer? An influencer is someone like Gandhi, who influences you to do certain things in your life,” Javed remarked.

Javed admitted that his comments were tongue-in-cheek but stood by his viewpoint. He acknowledged that not all influencers are in it for fame or money, citing examples of individuals from villages trying to make a living through content creation. “I see some stuff like, someone from a village, who lives in a small hut, they are trying to do something. I understand where they are coming from. They need some validation. That they are getting a chance to get out of their suffocating life. I see someone dancing in a weird way, but I understand where they are coming from, and it’s emotional also because I know they are living a very difficult life. There is no appreciation, and they are looking for some kind of validation. Everyone is not into it for the monetisation.”

The actor’s previous comments during his appearance on The Tribe also raised eyebrows. He stated that “any random person is coming and becoming an influencer.” When Alaviaa objected to his remarks, Javed bluntly stated that “people are consuming nonsense.”

Javed Jaaferi’s candid opinions on the influencer profession have sparked discussions about the value and impact of content creation in the digital age. While his comments have garnered both support and criticism, they highlight the ongoing debate about the role and influence of social media in modern society.
