Landmark Day For Indian Sports’: Sachin Tendulkar Lauds India’s Men’s & Women’s Kho Kho Teams

India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar on Monday extended his best wishes to the Indian men’s and women’s Kho Kho teams after they won the titles in the inaugural edition of the World Cup. Both teams completely dominated the tournament and bested their opponents in the respective summit showdowns to create history.

The Indian men’s team defeated Nepal 54-36 in the final to win the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup title in New Delhi on Sunday, January 19. Earlier, the Indian women’s team emerged as champion in the tournament with a dominant 78-40 win in the summit clash against Nepal.

The Men in Blue dominated the final against Nepal with skipper Pratik Waikar and World Cup standout Ramji Kashyap leading from the front. On a memorable night at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India produced a masterclass of speed, strategy and skill, dishing out a clinical show.

“A landmark day for Indian sports! 🏆 Our Men’s and Women’s Kho Kho teams have etched their names in history by winning the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup,” Tendulkar tweeted on Monday evening.

Attacking first, a brilliant sky dive by Ramji Kashyap got Nepal’s, Suraj Pujara. Suyash Gargate then touched Bharat Sahu to give India a great start with 10 points in just four minutes.

Skydives were the name of the game for the Men in Blue and this ensured a bright start for the team in Turn 1, preventing the Dream Run for their opponents. At the end of the turn, the scoreline was 26-0 in favour of the Indians.
