Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra landed himself in a fresh controversy and was accused of insulting women after he used BJP MP Hema Malini’s name during a public event in Datia.
Speaking in Hindi, Mishra, in front of the masses, referred to Hema Malini and said, he had brought “development at such a level in Datia that not only cultural programs were organised, but even Hema Malini was made to dance.”
Mishra’s statement has now gone viral on social media.
Taking a strong note of Mishra’s statement, the official X (formerly twitter) handle of the Janata Dal (United) posted, “See the reality of shameless BJP members who criticise the character and appearance. Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said such derogatory things about his own party’s MP Hema Malini.”
Narottam Mishra is contesting from Datia for the fourth time, for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
Mishra won from Datia in the 2008, 2013 and 2018 assembly elections.
The Congress has fielded senior Congress leader Rajendra Bharti from the seat.
