Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 specs leaked ahead of launch

Microsoft is expected to announce new Surface devices at its upcoming September 21 event in New York. Rumour has it that the tech giant will unveil the Surface Laptop Studio 2 alongside the Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Go 4.

However, just days before the launch, a report by the German blog sheds light on what the Surface Laptop Studio 2 offers in terms of hardware. Similar to its predecessor, the upcoming device will feature a 14.4-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 2400 x 1600 resolution.

It goes on to say that Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 buyers will be able to choose between the Core i7-13700H and the Core i7-13800H. To give you a quick recap, both processors feature 14 cores and 20 threads. As for graphics, power users can either go with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 or RTX 4060.

Those who don’t need GPU power can go with the base variant of the Surface Laptop Studio 2, which will be powered by Intel’s integrated Iris Xe GPU.

The report goes on to say that Microsoft might also bump the maximum memory to 64GB, which is double what the Surface Laptop Studio has to offer. Some other notable changes include support for microSD cards and a USB Type-A connector.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is rumoured to pack a 58Wh battery that will supposedly last up to 19 hours on a single charge. It looks like Microsoft is adding some colour options, but apart from that, the external design remains the same.

The device is expected to go on sale from October 3 with a price tag of 2,249 euros (approx. Rs 2 lakh) for the base model.
