Mohammed Shami Shares Glimpse Of ‘Bowling With Full Force’ Ahead Of Champions Trophy Selection

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has given fans a glimpse of his unwavering determination as he prepares for an international comeback. In a 27-second video shared on social media, Shami displayed his trademark precision and pace during a fiery net session, signaling his readiness for upcoming challenges.

The clip, captioned “Precision, Pace, and Passion, All Set to Take on the World!”, quickly garnered attention, reflecting Shami’s commitment to returning stronger than ever.

His comeback is set for the home white-ball series against England, followed by the crucial 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, after a lengthy recovery from injury.

Shami has been working hard to regain full fitness following ankle surgery after the 2023 ODI World Cup Final. He returned to competitive cricket with Ranji Trophy appearances, aiming to be part of the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. However, recurring knee swelling led to his exclusion before the fourth Test in Melbourne, further delaying his international return.

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri, speaking on The ICC Review, questioned the management of Shami’s injury and rehabilitation timeline. He suggested that keeping Shami with the squad during the Australia series could have ensured better monitoring and expedited his recovery.

“Why can’t proper communication come out on where he stands? A player of his ability, I would have brought him to Australia,” Shastri remarked.

“I would have kept him part of the team, monitored him with the best physios, and made a decision after the third Test if he could play.”
