Naidu pays tributes to freedom fighter Obanna
CM N Chandrababu Naidu, along with TDP leaders, paid floral tributes to Vadde Obanna, a first-generation freedom fighter, on his birth anniversary at the TDP office. The State government recently issued orders making Vadde Obanna’s birth anniversary a state festival.
“The Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 is called the First War of Independence. But even before that, in 1846, Vadde Obanna, along with Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, fought heroically to uphold the self-respect of the Telugu people against the atrocities of the British. We have decided to officially celebrate Obanna Jayanti with the intention of informing the history of the hero of that time, Vadde Obanna, to today’s generations. Let us remember the heroic story of that great man, the beloved BC child and freedom fighter, Vadde Obanna on his birthday,” Naidu posted on X.
