Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy’s family has garnered significant attention following the announcement of the company’s final dividend for the financial year 2024-25. The IT giant declared a ₹22 per share dividend, benefiting shareholders and members of the promoter group.
Among the beneficiaries is Murthy’s 17-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murty, who will receive ₹3.3 crore from the dividend. Ekagrah holds 15 lakh shares in Infosys, representing a 0.04% stake in the company. These shares were gifted to him by Narayana Murthy in March 2024, when he was just four months old. At the time of the transfer, the shares were valued at ₹240 crore, making Ekagrah one of India’s youngest millionaires.
Murthy’s daughter, Akshata Murty, who is also the wife of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, stands to earn ₹85.7 crore from her 3.89 crore shares in Infosys. Akshata has been a prominent figure in the business world and continues to maintain her stake in the company founded by her father.
The dividend announcement reflects Infosys’ strong financial performance and its commitment to rewarding shareholders. The Murthy family’s earnings from the dividend highlight the enduring legacy of Narayana Murthy’s contributions to India’s IT sector and the global success of Infosys.
