New GBP Hospital Block to Be Completed by 2027: Tripura CM Manik Saha

In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure in Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the construction of a new block at the GBP Hospital in Agartala is set to be completed by 2027. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this expansion in addressing the growing healthcare needs of the state.

The GBP Hospital, Tripura’s flagship medical facility, currently offers super-specialty services across nine departments, including Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Gastroenterology. However, space constraints in some departments have necessitated the construction of a new building to accommodate more patients and advanced medical equipment.

The Chief Minister assured that the ongoing construction would not disrupt existing medical services. He highlighted the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality care, noting that patients from across the state, including remote areas, rely on GBP Hospital for advanced treatments and complex diagnoses.

Once completed, the new block will house departments currently facing space limitations, further strengthening the hospital’s capacity to deliver efficient and specialized medical services. This development aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and infrastructure for its citizens.

The expansion of GBP Hospital is expected to significantly enhance the quality of medical care in Tripura, ensuring that residents receive timely and advanced treatments without compromise.
