Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome in Visakhapatnam on Friday evening as he arrived to lead the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations. He was greeted at the airport by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Education & IT Minister Nara Lokesh, marking a moment of unity and pride for Andhra Pradesh.
🧘♂️ ‘YogAndhra 2025’ Set to Break Records
The state is hosting one of the largest yoga gatherings in the world, with over 3 lakh participants expected to perform yoga simultaneously along a 26-kilometre corridor from RK Beach to Bhogapuram. The event, dubbed ‘YogAndhra 2025’, is part of a broader initiative to organize yoga sessions in over 1 lakh locations across the state, aiming to involve more than 2 crore people.
“I extend my hearty welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has arrived to participate in the International Yoga Day tomorrow in Visakhapatnam city,” Pawan Kalyan posted on X.
“Modi means motivation, Modi means dedication. Andhra Pradesh is ready to break records in organising Yoga!” added Nara Lokesh.
🌍 Global Spotlight on Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the event is not just a celebration but a global statement of India’s wellness leadership. He revealed that 25,000 tribal students will perform 108 Surya Namaskars in 108 minutes, aiming to set Guinness World Records for the largest group and most people performing Surya Namaskars simultaneously.
Themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the event will be held from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturday, with PM Modi leading the Common Yoga Protocol demonstration at RK Beach.
