Putin Confirms Russian Troops Crossing into Ukraine from Kursk Region

Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that Russian forces have crossed the border into Ukraine from the Kursk region. The announcement was made during a visit to a drone plant in St. Petersburg, where Putin informed journalists that the 810th Separate Guards Orders of Zhukov and Ushakov Marine Brigade had entered Ukrainian territory.

The Russian army has been engaged in pushing back Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region following a surprise cross-border attack by Ukraine in August 2024. The 810th Marine Brigade has been involved in some of the most challenging sections of the front during the special military operation, including the liberation of Mariupol and repelling the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhya region.

With the onset of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the Kursk region, the brigade’s units were transferred to the border areas, where they continue to perform combat missions. Reports indicate that servicemen from various brigades and volunteer formations have been actively involved in repelling multiple waves of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The situation in the Kursk region remains tense, with both sides continuing to engage in combat operations. The confirmation of Russian troops crossing into Ukraine marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict.
