Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a brilliant century in the fourth Test match against Australia, opening the doors to victory for Team India.
After his century, tears filled the eyes of Nitish’s family and many others.
Nitish Kumar Reddy’s father, Mutyala Reddy, met Sunil Gavaskar along with his family. After meeting Gavaskar, Mutyala became extremely emotional. He folded his hands in front of Gavaskar, bowed down, and touched his feet to express his gratitude. Star Sports shared a video of this heartfelt moment.
What did Ravi Shastri say?
“The way Nitish batted, it brought tears to his father’s eyes. Irfan and you were batting, and I felt my tongue getting heavy. Tears welled up in my eyes. I never cry, but yesterday, I did. Such a performance takes immense courage,” Ravi Shastri remarked.
Sunil Gavaskar choked up
“Your son played an incredible innings. The sacrifices made by Nitish’s father are immense. Because of you, I had tears in my eyes,” Sunil Gavaskar said, his voice choking with emotion.
“It is the parents’ hard work, and when children achieve something, it becomes a moment of immense joy for the family,” Gavaskar added.
Meanwhile, Nitish’s century was watched live by his father in the stadium. As Nitish inched closer to the milestone, his father’s nervousness grew. There was no one in the Melbourne stadium who wasn’t eagerly awaiting Nitish’s century. After the century, his father couldn’t hold back his tears, and the entire family was overwhelmed with emotions. After the match, Nitish’s parents and sister went to meet him.
