Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan praised the Indian captain Rohit Sharma while calling him a batter who is the most difficult one to bowl to.
The star Indian opener Rohit had the upper hand over Shadab in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023 which India won by defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
Rohit smashed Shadab for multiple boundaries in the Super Four clash before the leg-spinner ended up dismissing him.
The leg-spinner talked about bowling to Rohit in the press conference in Hyderabad.
“I admire Rohit Sharma a lot and among the leading batsmen in the world, he is the most difficult to bowl to. Once he gets set he becomes very dangerous,” Shadab said in the presser.
He also picked India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the most dangerous bowler. Kuldeep has been in remarkable form and performed brilliantly in the Asia Cup, winning the Player of the Tournament award as well.
“Among the bowlers, since I am a leg-spinner, it will be Kuldeep Yadav given his recent form,” said Shadab.
India and Pakistan will be up against each other in the league fixture of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
After a disappointing outing in the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan faced New Zealand in their first warm-up game of the ODI World Cup 2023 in Hyderabad.
Shadab scored 16 off 11 balls in that match but didn’t get to bowl a single over.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan slammed a century while Babar played a gritty knock of 80 in the defeat against the Blackcaps in the warm-up game that was played behind closed doors.
“The Asia Cup didn’t go well but that’s the beauty of cricket you learn from your mistakes and there is always an opportunity to learn and play good cricket. After we lost the Asia Cup we got a good rest and I believe it’s no more a skill game but a mental game and it’s the World Cup situation. You can make good decisions when you are relaxed mentally,” Shadab added.
Pakistan will face Australia in their final practice game at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday.
