Rumours : Nobel Laureate And Indian Economist Amartya Sen Dies At 89

The news soon spread like a wildfire. However, the same was untrue as confirmed by Nandana Deb Sen, daugher of Amartya Sen. “Nandana Deb Sen denies her father Nobel prize winner economist Amartya Sen�s news of death,” reported PTI.

Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday, one of his students named and Nobel winner Claudia Goldin broke the news on social media.

Economist Sen is survived by four children – Nandana Sen, Indrani Sen, Antara Dev Sen, Kabir Sen.

“A terrible news. My dearest Professor Amartya Sen has died minutes ago. No words,” Claudia Golding, who won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, tweeted on X.
