Actor Saif Ali Khan, who is undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital after being attacked by an intruder at his residence, had filed a health insurance claim of Rs 35.95 lakh, of which Rs 25 lakh has been approved. Confirming the development, Niva Bupa stated that the remaining amount would be settled once the final bills are submitted after complete treatment.
The purported document of Saif’s health insurance claim surfaced on social media, revealing details of the treatment cost and his probable discharge date. The document mentioned that the actor was being treated in a suite at Lilavati Hospital and is expected to be discharged on January 21, 2025.
However, sources told India Today that the actor might even be discharged on January 20 if all his vitals are normal. Meanwhile, Saif’s family has asked the medical team not to share any more updates about the incident amid relentless scrutiny over the matter.
In a statement, Niva Bupa said, “The recent unfortunate incident with actor Saif Ali Khan is deeply concerning. We wish him a speedy and safe recovery. A cashless pre-authorisation request was sent to us upon his hospitalisation, and we have given approval of an initial amount to start the treatment. Once we receive the final bills post the complete treatment, it will be settled as per policy terms and conditions.”
