Sanjana Ganesan’s Cute Instagram Story Will Surely Bring Smile On Jasprit Bumrah’s Face After Boxing Day Test Defeat

Team India suffered another heart-breaking defeat in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under. The Rohit Sharma-led side lost the Boxing Day Test by 184 runs, now trailing in the series 1-2. However, ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah stole the show with a dynamic bowling performance which kept on pulling India out of a precarious.

He completed 200 wickets in the longest format of the game, returning a 9-wicket match haul. With a fifer in the second innings, the right-arm quick surpassed legendary Shoaib Akhtar with a total of 13 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

Bumrah’s son Angad was seen celebrating the fifer in the cutest way possible. In an Instagram story shared by Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan, little Angad can be seen with the match ball in his hands. “Proud of you dadda, today and every day,” read the message on the story.

Bumrah reached another milestone in Melbourne as he became the first bowler to claim more than 200 wickets in Tests with an average of less than 20. Travis Head became Bumrah’s 200th victim. Bumrah, who achieved this feat in his 44th Test, has 203 wickets under his belt at an average of 19.42.

West Indies’ trio of Malcolm Marshall (376 wickets, 20.94 avg), Joel Garner (259 wickets, 20.97 avg) and Curtly Ambrose (405 wickets, 20.99 avg) are ahead of Bumrah on the list of bowlers with more than 200 wickets.

Bumrah is also the leading wicket-taker in international cricket this year. The Indian pacer also broke Ravichandran Ashwin’s record of taking the most wickets in a single edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) for India.

Bumrah has been in stellar form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is the leading wicket-taker of the tour with 30 scalps.

Following his brilliant series of performances, Jasprit Bumrah was nominated for the International Cricket Council (ICC) men’s ‘Test Cricketer of the Year’ Award for 2024. He will compete with England’s Joe Root and Harry Brook and Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis for the award.
