Sharmila Tagore recently reflected on her career, films, and the current state of cinema. She also shared insights into her grandson Taimur’s personality and recounted a delightful anecdote from her son Saif Ali Khan’s childhood.
While attended the fourth edition of SCREEN Live, Sharmila shared that Taimur’s popularity grew gradually rather than instantly, eventually surpassing expectations by becoming widely admired across all categories, not just among children. She described Taimur as quiet and reserved, in contrast to his brother Jeh, who is energetic and playful. Despite their differing temperaments, both brothers have endearing qualities.
The 70-year-old actress shared her experience working with child actor Jihan Hodar in Outhouse, praising his talent and noting how effortlessly he nailed his scenes, often getting them right in just one take. She expressed her love for children and the joy she finds in observing their unique ways of expressing themselves, which often requires careful attention.
Sharmila shared a childhood anecdote about her son Saif that taught her the importance of attentive communication with children. She recounted how interrupting Saif during a conversation led to a misunderstanding, emphasizing that children often express themselves indirectly, requiring patience and focused listening rather than immediate responses.
Sharmila Tagore’s Outhouse features Mohan Agashe, Sonali Kulkarni, and Neeraj Kabi in key roles. The film is set to release in theatres on December 20.
Early this month, the actress celebrated her birthday surrounded by her family. Saif, Soha and Saba got together to host an intimate birthday party for the star as she cut her cake while surrounded by her grand children – Sara Ali Khan, Inaaya, Jeh. Daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan also joined in the celebrations and posed with the happy bunch for some cute clicks.
In another family milestone, Sharmila’s youngest grandchild, little Jeh Ali Khan made his stage debut as an elephant for a school play.
