Shikhar Dhawan Slams Pakistan Over Ceasefire Violation, Indian Cricketers Rally Behind Him

Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has strongly condemned Pakistan’s ceasefire violation, calling out the neighboring country for its “deceitful actions” just hours after the truce was agreed upon.

Taking to social media platform X, Dhawan expressed his outrage, stating, “Ghatiya desh ne fir apna ghatiyapan poori duniya ke aage dikha diya” (The filthy nation has once again shown its filthiness to the whole world). His remarks reflect the growing frustration among Indian citizens and sports personalities over Pakistan’s repeated breaches of agreements.

Indian Cricketers Join Dhawan in Condemnation

Dhawan’s comments were echoed by several Indian cricketing legends, including Virender Sehwag, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Rahul Tewatia, who also criticized Pakistan’s actions. Sehwag, known for his outspoken nature, shared a Hindi proverb comparing Pakistan’s behavior to a “crooked dog’s tail”, implying that its actions remain unchanged despite diplomatic efforts.

Ceasefire Breach Sparks Outrage

The ceasefire agreement, brokered by India, Pakistan, and the United States, was intended to halt escalating tensions following Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. However, within hours of the agreement, reports emerged of drone attacks targeting Srinagar and Kutch, leading to renewed hostilities.

Impact on Sports and Security Measures

The violation has had wider repercussions, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly pausing IPL 2025 due to security concerns. The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was abandoned after a security scare, further highlighting the impact of the conflict on Indian sports.

Meanwhile, Indian defense forces remain on high alert, successfully neutralizing multiple drone threats to safeguard key regions.

Future Outlook

With tensions escalating, Indian officials have warned of strong retaliatory measures if further breaches occur. The ceasefire’s sustainability remains uncertain, as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent further hostilities.
