Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang recently welcomed Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Basu and actors Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela at his official residence, Mintokgang, as they filmed their upcoming project in the picturesque state. The meeting, held on April 1, 2025, highlighted Sikkim’s growing appeal as a prime destination for cinematic ventures.
The film crew has been shooting at iconic locations such as MG Marg and Tsomgo Lake, capturing the state’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. During the meeting, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the team and presented them with traditional Sikkimese gifts as a token of appreciation for choosing the state as their filming location. He assured the crew of the state government’s full support for the smooth execution of their project.
Anurag Basu expressed gratitude for the cooperation extended by the local authorities, praising the seamless coordination that allowed the crew to work efficiently. Kartik Aaryan, impressed by the enthusiasm of Bollywood fans in Sikkim, thanked the people and the Sikkim Police for their support during outdoor shoots. Actress Sreeleela, on her first visit to the state, described her experience as unforgettable, captivated by Sikkim’s natural beauty and vibrant traditions.
The untitled film, rumored to be a romantic drama, is expected to showcase Sikkim’s stunning scenery and unique architecture, further promoting the state as a cinematic hotspot. The project is slated for a Diwali 2025 release, adding to the anticipation surrounding this collaboration.
