Sonakshi Sinha Throws Joint Birthday Party For Shatrughan and Zaheer; Brothers’ Absence Sparks Buzz

Sonakshi Sinha recently hosted a joint birthday celebration for two pivotal figures in her life—her father, Shatrughan Sinha, and her husband, Zaheer Iqbal. The intimate gathering included close friends and family, with veteran actor Rekha gracing the occasion. However, the absence of Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv and Kush, was notable.

Sonakshi offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at the celebrations through a video shared on her YouTube channel. The clip highlighted moments filled with joy, love, and heartfelt connections. Shatrughan Sinha celebrated his 79th birthday on December 9, 2024, while Zaheer turned 36 the very next day, on December 10.

Sonakshi revealed that this was a landmark moment, as it marked the first time her father and husband celebrated their birthdays together. However, her brothers’ absence cast a shadow over the occasion. Their no-show at this celebration, following their absence at Sonakshi’s wedding in June last year, has reignited speculation about a potential rift within the Sinha family.

The party saw a touching moment as Rekha, who shares a close bond with the Sinha family, attended the gathering. Upon her arrival, she was seen rushing to touch Shatrughan’s feet as a gesture of respect. Rekha and Shatrughan have shared screen space in iconic films such as Khoon Bhari Maang and Raampur Ka Lakshman. Adding to the warmth of the evening, Shatrughan’s wife, Poonam Sinha, welcomed Rekha with an emotional speech, saying, “I want to tell everyone that my soul sister is here. Everybody say hello to her.”

Zaheer also paid his respects to Rekha by touching her feet, further emphasizing the familial bond shared among the attendees.

A nostalgic highlight of the evening was a showcase of vintage film magazines featuring Shatrughan on the covers. These magazines, dating back to 1972, had been preserved in plastic and were displayed as part of the celebrations, hinting at a special gift Sonakshi may have arranged for the occasion.

Sonakshi and Zaheer, who dated for several years, tied the knot on the anniversary of the day they fell in love. Their intimate wedding was followed by a celebration for close friends and family. In a heartfelt post, the couple wrote, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017), in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where, with the blessings of both our families and both our gods, we are now man and wife.”

Addressing his sons’ absence from Sonakshi’s wedding, Shatrughan Sinha reflected on the situation in an interview with Retro Lehren. He shared, “I won’t complain. They are only humans. They may still not be so mature. I do understand their pain and confusion. There is always cultural reaction. Maybe, if I was their age, I might have had a similar reaction to it. But, here is where your maturity, seniority, and experience come into place. Hence, my reaction was not as extreme as my sons’.”
