Tripura CM Manik Saha Discusses Rail Service Development with NFR Officials

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha recently held a meeting with a delegation from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to discuss the development of railway services and infrastructure in the state. The delegation, led by NFR General Manager (Construction) Arun Kumar Chowdhury, met with the Chief Minister at the Secretariat in Agartala on Monday.

The discussions focused on several key areas, including:

– *Electrification of Railway Lines*: Progress on the electrification of railway lines in the state.

– *Introduction of Electric Passenger Trains*: Plans to introduce electric passenger trains from Badarpur to Sabroom.

– *Conversion to Double-Line Track*: The conversion of the single-line railway track to a double-line track.

– *Agartala-Guwahati Intercity Rail Service*: Introduction of an intercity rail service between Agartala and Guwahati.

– *Construction of Railway Overbridges*: Current status of the construction of 23 railway overbridges.

– *Upgradation of Railway Stations*: Upgrading Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur railway stations into modern railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

– *New Express Trains*: Introduction of Agartala-Jammu, Agartala-Puri, and Agartala-Gaya Express trains.

– *Alternative Railway Lines*: Provision of alternative railway lines from Pencharthal to Dharmanagar via Kailashahar.

– *Rail Connectivity to Industrial Estates*: Rail connectivity from Jirania railway station to Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar industrial estate.

– *Sabroom Integrated Check Post*: Establishment of railway lines from Sabroom railway station to the Sabroom integrated check post.

– *Vande Bharat Express*: Introduction of Vande Bharat Express from Guwahati to Agartala.

– *Fuel Storage Depot*: Progress on the construction of a fuel storage depot at Sekerkote.

– *Agartala-Akhaura International Rail Project*: Updates on the Agartala-Akhaura International rail project.

Chief Minister Saha advised the concerned railway authorities to take necessary initiatives to transform Agartala Railway Station into a world-class facility while ensuring the cleanliness of various stations.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty and Assistant Transport Commissioner Maitree Debnath.

This comprehensive discussion highlights the state government’s commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure and services in Tripura, aiming to improve connectivity and boost economic development in the region.
