Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has described the 2025-26 state budget as a “people-oriented” initiative aimed at fostering inclusive development and economic growth. Speaking at the Tripura Legislative Assembly, CM Saha emphasized that the budget prioritizes the welfare of all sections of society, including women, youth, tribals, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, minorities, and pensioners.
The proposed budget allocation for 2025-26 stands at ₹32,423 crore, marking a 103% increase compared to the ₹15,956.56 crore allocated in 2017-18. The Chief Minister highlighted that the state’s own revenue collection has also seen significant growth, from ₹1,915 crore in 2017-18 to a projected ₹4,514 crore in 2025-26. This progress aligns with the government’s vision of building a self-reliant Tripura.
CM Saha assured that the state government is committed to maintaining fiscal discipline, keeping debt within the permissible limit of 3% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). He also outlined plans to leverage external aid for ongoing projects, with 10 initiatives currently underway.
The budget reflects a focus on resource allocation, economic growth, transparency, and accountability. It also underscores the government’s dedication to improving health infrastructure, education, and employment opportunities across the state.
The Chief Minister credited the BJP-led government’s “double-engine” approach for the state’s development and reiterated its alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He expressed gratitude to the Finance Department for presenting a budget that addresses the aspirations of Tripura’s citizens while ensuring sustainable growth.
