Agartala, April 20, 2025:
The Tripura government has successfully filled over 17,500 vacant government posts and is preparing to recruit an additional 13,000 candidates in the coming months, according to state minister Ratan Lal Nath. The announcement marks a significant push towards strengthening public administration and addressing unemployment in the northeastern state.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Nath, who holds the portfolios of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Power, and Election, said the appointments were made across various departments including education, health, police, and civil administration.
“The government is committed to transparent and merit-based recruitment. These appointments were made through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT), and other authorized channels,” Nath stated.
He further revealed that the upcoming recruitment drive would focus on both Group C and Group D positions, with particular emphasis on youth employment and rural outreach. “We are ensuring that the recruitment process is not only swift but also inclusive,” he added.
Officials said that the move is part of the state’s larger employment and development strategy under the current administration, which aims to streamline governance and improve service delivery through increased manpower.
The minister also noted improvements in digital infrastructure and administrative transparency as part of the government’s efforts to modernize the hiring process. “We have minimized delays and made significant use of technology to enhance efficiency,” he said.
The large-scale recruitment drive has been welcomed by job seekers and political observers as a step towards tackling rising unemployment and boosting the state economy.
Further details about the new vacancies, including timelines and eligibility criteria, are expected to be released on official state portals in the coming weeks.
