Trump Administration Imposes Travel Ban on 12 Nations; India Not on the List!

US President Donald Trump has signed a new proclamation, enforcing a total travel ban on 12 countries and partial restrictions on 7 others, citing national security concerns.

🔴 Countries Facing a Total Travel Ban:

  • Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

⚠️ Partial Restrictions Imposed on:

  • Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

📢 What About India?

  • India is NOT included in the travel ban.
  • The US does not consider India a security risk, allowing unrestricted travel for Indian nationals.

🔴 Trump’s Justification:

  • The ban follows the April 22 Boulder terror attack, allegedly carried out by a foreign national residing illegally in the US.
  • Trump stated, “We cannot have open migration from any country where we cannot safely and reliably vet and screen.”
