Unstoppable! Karun Nair sets world record for most List A runs without being dismissed

Karun Nair’s red-hot run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy continued with the Vidarbha captain creating a new world record of scoring most List A runs in sequence without being dismissed.

He smashed his third consecutive century of the tournament, achieving this remarkable milestone during the match against Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

The 33-year-old Nair has remained unbeaten across five games, leading Vidarbha to the top of Group E with 16 points from four completed matches.

Most List A runs without being dismissed

• Karun Nair – 530*

• James Franklin – 527

• Joshua van Heerden – 512

• Fakhar Zaman – 455

• Taufeeq Umar – 422

• Mohammad Yousuf – 405

• Lance Klusener – 400

He began the campaign with an unbeaten 112 in a successful 222-run chase against J&K, followed by an unbeaten 44 against Chhattisgarh. He then delivered stellar performances with 163* and 111* in his last two matches against Chandigarh and Tamil Nadu, cementing his position at the top of the batting charts.

Nair also became the first Indian batter to score 500 List A runs without being dismissed across innings when he reached 70.

He then surpassed the previous List A record of 527 runs set by former New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin in 2010. Nair went on to notch his seventh List A century, with four of those coming in just the last eight days.

Karun Nair’s impressive 112-run innings came to an end when Atal Bihari Rai claimed his wicket. However, the damage had already been done, as Vidarbha successfully chased down the 308-run target in just 47.2 overs.
