Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj has stated that the continuous Enforcement Directorate notices to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for questioning is a move by the BJP-led government to finish the AAP. In an interview with NDTV, Bhardwaj said, “This is so that they can get rid of AAP politically.” When asked if the party was ready with a Plan B if Kejriwal is arrested, he said, “As of now, I don’t know and I don’t think there’s any discussion about it.
Kejriwal is our leader and we will work under his direction”.
Recently, the Supreme Court dismissed the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in connection with cases related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy case. Sisodia is facing money laundering and corruption charges over alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of a now-scrapped liquor policy in the national capital.
On October 30, Arvind Kejriwal got a notice from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He was summoned by the probe agency in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam and was called for questioning by the ED on November 2. Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj accused the Centre of framing false charges against Kejriwal. “As per the news that the Central Government’s ED has sent summon to Delhi CM, it gets clear that the Centre has only one aim to somehow finish AAP. They are not leaving a stone unturned in framing a false
case to put CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail and to finish AAP,” Bhardwaj said.
The questioning of Kejriwal into the case was very much expected, Bhardwaj told NDTV. “Two days back Manoj Tiwari said in an interview to ANI that next in line is Arvind Kejriwal and he will be arrested. I wonder how Manoj Tiwari knew that Kejriwal will be summoned? It makes me believe it is political script,” he added.
