Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to part ways with Mumbai and join Goa for the 2025-26 domestic cricket season. The 23-year-old left-handed batter has formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to facilitate his transition to the Goa Cricket Association (GCA).
Jaiswal, who has been a key player for Mumbai since his Under-19 days, cited personal reasons for the move. The MCA has reportedly granted the NOC, paving the way for Jaiswal to represent Goa in the upcoming season. This decision aligns with a growing trend of Mumbai cricketers, including Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, making similar moves to Goa in recent years.
The GCA has expressed enthusiasm about Jaiswal’s inclusion, with Secretary Shambu Desai stating, “We are building a strong squad for Goa and aim to acquire top talent, which is why we reached out to him recently.” Jaiswal is also expected to take on a leadership role within the team, further strengthening Goa’s cricketing prospects.
Jaiswal’s decision comes after a mixed performance in recent domestic and international matches. Despite his struggles in the ongoing IPL 2025 season with Rajasthan Royals, he remains a promising talent with an impressive first-class record of 3,712 runs at an average of 60.85, including 13 centuries.
This move marks a significant chapter in Jaiswal’s career as he seeks new opportunities and challenges in Goa’s cricketing landscape. Fans and cricket enthusiasts will be keenly watching his performance in the upcoming season.
